Cholula Review

This was going to be an awesome video review. I recorded over twenty minutes of footage of me eating various Cholula covered foods. However, life caught up with me and I won't have a chance to edit the video for a while so instead I'm just doing a written review with some screen captures of the video. So much for being creative.

Anyways, Cholula is good. We all know this. If you don't, you obviously need to actually try some Cholula. I put it on toast, bagels with cream cheese, vegetables, popcorn, chicken- pretty much anything that could use some zest is good with Cholula.

Cholula was nice enough to send me their four pack which contains Original, Chipotle, Chili Lime, and Chili Garlic, so I was able to do some experimentation. And who doesn't love some good experimentation?

Advanced Cholula Tip #1: Original Cholula+Chicken Tenders= Buffalo Chicken Tenders.
Original: The original. Hot and zesty. I think this one has the most heat to it out of the four. Awesome on French fries.

Dripping with Chipotle Cholula
Chipotle: Very different from Original. It's more of a smokey-BBQ, and less of a spicy flavor. There is a spice kick but it comes a little later. Tastes bold. My favorite with chicken tenders out of the four.

Oh hey, Chili Lime. Wazzup.
Chili Lime: I could definitely taste a citrus-kick in this flavor. I really liked that extra zest. Tastes fresh. I didn't try it, but this one would probably be really good on some grilled chicken breast (saucing up mid-grill for best results.)

Poured Lime, Garlic, and Chipotle in the bag. It became a zesty adventure of Cholula Corn.

Chili Garlic: I love garlic so this was very enjoyable for me. So good. I was hungry the other day and just ate some of this plain. It was really good. Pretty good on popcorn too.

Just eat it.
The four flavors are distinct, each having it's own unique taste. I enjoyed all four on everything I tried them with. Cholula is one of my favorite food toppings. It's seriously good on like everything.

Go buy some Cholula and remember to enter your winter action sports photos in Cholula's hot shot contest. Just post your shots to twitter and tag them #CholulaHotShot for a chance to win gopros and other awesome prizes.

Vail snatches up Kirkwood

New came out this morning that Kirkwood is now part of the Vail family. The $18million purchase includes the undeveloped sites at the center of the base area which are zoned for residential and commercial development, while Kirkwood will retain ownership of the remainder of the real estate development sites.

The deal will be finished within the next month, but as of today, Epic passholders can now ride at Kirkwood and Kirkwood passholders can ride Northstar and Heavenly.

I'm pretty stoked about this. Kirkwood is an awesome mountain and it'll be cool to be able to ride there with my Northstar pass. I haven't been there since last season when I hitch hiked down to the Queen of the Park competition, but I'd love to make it there again this season. If we ever get snow. Kirkwood is awesome when there's snow, but when there's not, it's not worth the 79 mile drive down.

Do I foresee Vail eventually buying out all of Tahoe? Yes. Should we all be worried about this? Probably. Am I worried right now? Nope.

Time to ride.

USCSA

USCSA has been going pretty good. It's cool to finally have people to compete against, unlike USASA last year.

I've traveled with the Sierra Nevada College team down to Mammoth twice now, for two boardercross contests and one slopestyle. I placed second in all 3 events behind my team mate Ashley. There are a couple other riders who are pretty good but for the most part kids in the college series are just competing as a hobby and don't ride very often. I think that's cool that students from schools that aren't even near the mountains can still be part of a snowboard club and compete.

This next weekend my team is driving down to Mammoth for three days for Regionals. We'll be competing in Giant Slalom, Slopestyle, and Boardercross. Still no Halfpipe :[. I'd really like to place first so I'm going to have to step it up. That means no speed checking in the Boardercross course, and sending it with spins on the jumps. I think I've got it in me, I'll just have to really push myself.

Hopefully I'll be coming back next week with good news.

Cholula

I received an email last month asking if I would like to review Cholula Hot Sauce. I already put Cholula on everything so of course I agreed. My variety four pack arrived in the mail this last week and I'm currently undergoing intense scientific testing of the different flavors. I should have an official review out later this month. Until then, why don't you win some free stuff from Cholula?

Cholula is holding a Hot Shot of the Week contest this winter. All you need to do is post your action photo on their facebook or on twitter tagged #CholulaHotShot for the chance to win a gopro helmet cam or other awesome prizes. Get on it!
