Life is Hood.

(PHOTOS COMING SOON)

Yoyoyo. Whatz gud? I've been chilling out livin the thug life. You know. Realness. Gangster shit. Poppin caps slappin hos.

Except not really. I don't know what just came over me. Maybe the Red Bull I shotgunned earlier is still messing with me. Probably not though. I'm just a gangsta. Anywayyyys.

I survived my first few weeks in Government camp, living somewhat like a gypsy. The drive up to Oregon was fairly uneventful except when I stopped in Winston for the Wildlife Safari. It was sick. Wildlife Safari is this drive through Safari where you get to drive through Africa, Asia, and America and the animals are free to roam up to your car. Probably the coolest was these camels who had a thing for my car and started licking my windows and tires.

The next day I got into Government Camp and then it suddenly hit me that I had no plans and didn't know anyone. I had that moment when I was like "I accomplished my goal. I made it to Govy. Now what do I do?" I found this cafe, called the High Mountain Cafe (awesome sandwiches! Go there if you come to town!) to hang out in and ended up running into a few kids from Tahoe, including my old pal Danny Smith. I hung out with Danny and he introduced me to some people. We ended up going to Brightwood and I met some more people. I think I spent that night in Brightwood and then headed back to Govy the next day. I spent a few days looking for a job and wandering around aimlessly. In the mean time I was sleeping in my car or random couches.

After a handful of days of being in town and no jobs or anything coming through, I said "fuckit" and bought the $896 Timberline summer pass. I started riding everyday after that and picked up a practice I call "Lodge Life". I'd ride till 2pm when the lifts close, then go into Timberline lodge which is part historic landmark, part hotel, and chill with a couple ski bum dudes I met who were also living in their cars. We had this room in the lodge we'd go to that had wifi and we'd just chill there until later in the night when they'd play a movie in the movie. The movie would finish around midnight and at that point I'd go to one of the guest bathrooms in the lodge and do the teeth brushing/contact removal/face washing practice. Then I'd head back to my car, go to sleep, and wake up in the morning in the parking lot ready to shred again. The lodge also had showers and a pool/sauna/hot tub so I pretty much just convinced myself I lived in the lodge and made myself at home.

Halfway through the month I found an abandoned cabin that I thought would be sweet to live in. I checked it out but there were already a bunch of sleeping bags inside. A couple days later my friend from Tahoe, Dakota, mentioned he moved into an abandoned cabin. Turns out it was the same one I had looked at and the other people had moved out that day. I started staying there with him and it's pretty chill. It's nice to stretch out and not be in my car. Dakota and I share lovely talks till three am almost every morning about the mold in the walls and the bugs and things in the cabin which will all cause us to experience death a little bit sooner. He's spent a couple nights over at Windells and staying at the cabin alone scares the shit out of me. But whatever. It's a cool spot, and I don't have to pay rent.

That's pretty much it. I'm in talks with the manager at Ram's Head and I think I'm going to be busing there. Snowboarding is good and fun. I'm frustrated that I'm not doing some stuff I'd like to be doing but it will come with time. I've got two months still...
